Travel Sorter finds your travel bookings in your Gmail and lays them out by place. This page says what it reads, what it keeps, who else touches it, and how to have it deleted.
Signing in
You sign in with Google. Travel Sorter gets your name, email address and profile picture, and nothing else, unless you also connect Gmail.
What it reads from Gmail
Connecting Gmail is optional. When you do, Travel Sorter asks for read-only access: it can never send, delete, label or change your email.
- It only looks at mail from the time you choose onwards (and new mail as it arrives, unless you turn that off).
- For each of those emails it reads the sender, subject, date and Gmail’s short preview, to tell whether it’s about travel.
- Only emails that look like bookings (tickets, hotel and cab confirmations, itineraries, loyalty statements) are opened in full. Their text is kept so your bookings can be shown with the email they came from.
What it keeps
- Your bookings, places and trips, and anything you add yourself: bookings, expenses, loyalty cards, family members.
- The text of the booking emails it found, and the sender, subject and date of the others it looked at.
- A Gmail access token, encrypted, so it can check for new bookings while you’re away.
- A sign-in cookie in your browser. No ads, no tracking, no analytics cookies.
PDFs you attach are read in your browser; only their text is sent, never the file.
Who else sees it
Your data is never sold, never used for ads, and never used to train AI models. Nobody reads your email, except when you ask for help with a specific problem and allow it. It passes through only these services, which run the app:
- Vercel hosts the app, and Neon stores its database.
- TypeSafe reads the text of booking emails to pick out the details (dates, places, reference numbers). It sends back only those details.
- Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash supply the city photos; only the city and country names are sent.
- People you add to your family see only the trips and bookings you choose to share with them.
Google API data
Travel Sorter’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to find and show your bookings to you.
Deleting your data
- To stop Gmail access at any time, remove Travel Sorter at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To delete your account and everything kept for it, email hello@stackenlabs.xyz from the address you signed in with. It’s done within 30 days.
